A few days ago in Marseille, the second stage of the prestigious sailing event of the Audi MedCup 2008 (www.medcup.org), which is the third season of the Russian sailing command “RUSAL-the synergy” under the leadership of captain Valentine Zavadnikov (Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on industrial policy).

“My team progress enough, it is visible, it is tangible,” says the captain, “RUSAL-the Synergy” Valentine Zavadnikov. “If before we could only fight the yachts with the old buildings, now on an equal footing with new. And the desire of the organizers to affect our result speaks for itself” – he sneers. “It is gratifying that both Russian teams racing on yachts in Transpac 52 class, not far behind in its development from the other teams. The next competition for the command “RUSAL-the synergy” will be a regatta in Sardinia Rolex Cup held in Porto Cervo (Italy) from 16 to 21 June. Under the terms of this competition, held every two years, in 2008 they take part in the national team, consisting of three classes of yachts – Farr 40, Swan 45 and 52 series. Management of a command “RUSAL-the synergy” has decided to collect a team of former compatriots (not only Russia but also nearest neighbor). To date this team has:

  • The 52 series is a yacht RUSAL Synergy (Russia)
  • The Swan 45 is a yacht Murka (Russia)
  • Farr 40 – boat Arctur (Ukraine).

    Never before in the history of the Russian sailing did not intend such a representative international team (with the participation of our compatriots) of the three classes of large keel yachts.
